Greater Antelope Valley
In the westernmost region of the great Mojave Desert lies an oasis known as the Antelope Valley. Nestled between the Tehachapi Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains, the Antelope Valley was originally used as an Indian trade route between Arizona and New Mexico to the California coast. The area was used as hunting grounds for antelope and as an escape route for prowling bandits.
